Batch consistency: why your shoot looks off
Why a shoot can pass photo by photo and still look wrong as a storefront grid: framing drift, white balance swings and background brightness, and how batch checks catch them.

Photos pass alone, the grid still looks wrong
Every photo in a shoot can individually meet the rules while the storefront grid still looks messy, because buyers see photos side by side. One product framed tighter than its neighbors, one background a touch warmer than the rest: no single-photo check catches that, only a comparison across the batch does.
The three things that drift
Framing drift: the product fill ratio creeps between shots as the camera or product moves. White balance drift: auto white balance re-decides per shot, pushing backgrounds warm or cold on a red-blue axis. Brightness drift: exposure changes make one background visibly darker or lighter than the batch.
Photolint measures all three per photo, takes the batch median, and flags photos that deviate meaningfully from it. Honesty rules apply here too: only confident measurements enter the comparison, and below four measurable photos the report says the sample is too small rather than guessing.
What the pipeline fixes, what the shot must fix
Framing drift is fixable in software: the recrop stage brings every photo to the same fill target, which alone makes a grid read as one shoot. Color and brightness drift on a white backdrop largely disappear once backgrounds are made pure white; on styled backgrounds they are a lighting problem, so those findings are labeled "check the shot" instead of being silently corrected.
Avoiding drift at capture
Lock what the camera would otherwise re-decide: fixed tripod position, manual exposure, manual white balance. Mark the product position on the surface so every item sits at the same distance. Shoot a whole batch in one session; the biggest swings come from re-rigging the setup on another day.
